You seem to be mixing up your responses - bringing project-based ideas into your analysis, for instance. It seems very strange to me, that in a film famous for its EDITING, you don't actually respond to this element strongly - even though your whole unit is pushing you towards a greater understanding of the way in which the structure of a scene can add meaning to the content of the scene! You're obviously not reading enough before you start writing your reviews, so I'm going to ask you to read reviews/articles about the films BEFORE you start writing your reviews. You don't seem to have very much to say about these films - but there is SO much to say about them, and many people have written lots of fascinating stuff - which you should be reading too! I want you to visit the following reviews on your classmate's blogs and I want you to read them closely and compare them with your own. Put simply, Naomi, I need to see much more sophistication from you and a greater commitment to developing your analytical skills, reading and research:

http://jonathanpearmain.blogspot.com/2011/02/review-psycho-1960.html

http://mollybolder.blogspot.com/2011/02/alfred-hitchcocks-birds-1963.html

You're not working or thinking at 'degree level', Naomi - not yet - it's time to admit that, and move on positively. I will be looking for a BIG improvement from you in the weeks to come.tutorphilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11842833126210822641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6512485033146678408.post-47468525042259898432011-02-11T15:26:40.553+00:002011-02-11T15:26:40.553+00:00Yes, as it doesn't show the blood very well. If it was in colour, it would and that will not be suitable for younger viewers.

Well, Phil did said when we were doing Unit 3 is that Psycho is a good example for the uncanny.Axilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14153727572411516830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6512485033146678408.post-76177275150876748232011-02-11T14:43:32.130+00:002011-02-11T14:43:32.130+00:00Hello! Or does Hitchcock achieve something else through this?
PS...please don't get hung up on 'the uncanny' - you don't have to see it everywhere! :)Jackiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13332181835614441447noreply@blogger.com
