Hey Naomi,
Okay...Interim Online Review 22/03/2011

Hey Naomi,

Okay - your story is clear, I'd just suggest that the ending might be stronger if the audience didn't see the blimp deflating, but rather you cut to black just after we hear the 'pop!' after the bird pecks it. Regarding your bird designs, i suggest you keep things nice and simple - afterall, you're going to be drawing it, so lots and lots of detail is quickly going to get on your nerves!

In terms of your essay, as discussed earlier, one of the key interesting facts about Parks' stuff is the 'hand-made' aspect of the animation - he doesn't like things too polished or slick. I suggest you check out some of the reviews for the film 'Flushed Away', as critics commented on its failure as having something to do with the difference between plasticine and cg....

In terms of the animations we've looked at:

Winsor Mccay: Life of a Mosquito, Gertie, the dinosaur, The sinking of the Lusitania

Norman Mclaren - Begone Dull Care, Le Merle, Lines Horizontale, Pas De Deux

Walt Disney/Fantasia

Lotte Reiniger - Cinderella

Ladislaw Starewicz - The Mascot
Jan Svankmajer - Dimensions of Dialogue
The Brothers Quay - Street of Crocodiles
Jiri Barta - the Pied Piper of Hamlyn

Bill Plympton - How to Kiss/The Tune
Raymond Briggs - When the wind blows.
v Starwicvtutorphilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11842833126210822641noreply@blogger.com
